MIBGAS S.A. is the operator of the regulated organised gas market in the Iberian Peninsula, in accordance with Law 8/2015, of 21 May, which amends Law 34/1998, of 7 October, on the Hydrocarbons Sector and Portaria nº 643/2015 of 21 August, of the Gabinete do Secretário de Estado da Energia de Portugal.

In turn, Royal Decree 984/2015, of 30 October, which regulates the organised gas market and third-party access to natural gas system facilities, designates the company MIBGAS S.A. as the Guarantees Manager.

Therefore, MIBGAS is responsible for the management, control and maintenance of the Organised Gas Market, as well as the centralised management of the guarantees for the contracting of infrastructure capacity with regulated third-party access, the guarantees for participation in the Organised Gas Market and the guarantees for the settlement of imbalances.

MIBGAS is a private but regulated company and MIBGAS Derivatives is a subsidiary of MIBGAS that is outside regulation.

MIBGAS Derivatives is the MIBGAS subsidiary for the trading of products that are outside the sector regulation: natural gas futures, indexed products, liquefied natural gas (LNG) products and spot products in underground storage facilities (U.S.S.) in the Iberian Peninsula. In addition, it also offers an OTC trade registration service and auctions on request.

All products are traded on a common platform, however, the rules governing the trading of each group are different.

MIBGAS does not charge any registration or trading fees to its brokers; however, MIBGAS Derivatives does. In this respect, MIBGAS Derivatives' fees are available in the following Fee Instruction
